Realm & Empire: THE WOLF IS AT THE DOOR
As Spring approaches there really is nothing more sartorially versatile than a classic heavyweight jersey crew neck. Dressed up over an oxford and tie or paired down with jeans and simple block colour kicks, Realm & Empire’s first season for Spring Summer 2012 offers up a full range of vintage influenced sportswear inspired by the Churchill War Rooms in London.
“The Scottish War Savings Committee released a series of posters during the First World War with the main aim of raising funds for the war effort and encouraging austerity through the difficult war years. Bread was not actually rationed but you could be fined for wasting it. This message served to remind people that they should not waste even the simplest basic commodities and continue to do their best for their country at all times to keep the wolf from the door.”
‘The Wolf Is At The Door’ printed crew neck sweat is made from 100% cotton brush back fleece, and available to buy online now.

The Amsterdam’s Blauw collection for Spring Summer 2012 is far from ‘Safety in Navy’ – it’s for the physical & intellectual wanderer who’s garments must serve a purpose, and that purpose is to serve nobody but ourselves…
